When you setup DataDirector through the Wizard, it automatically places an Au-asx folder after the folder you specify in the Database Wizard, which by default is called “Shares”. If your database structure does not contain an Au-asx folder, you will need to change this.
Although we do not recommend changing this folder, this may need to be changed if you were receiving data via e-mail and have changed to DataDirector, or if you had previously received data from another data supplier.
To change the database folder in DataDirector, you must do the following:
| 1. | Click the Setup button of DataDirector and ensure that Expert User is ticked |
| 2. | Highlight the Wizard in destination details window (i.e. Wizard-MetaStock-ASX) then click on the Properties button |
| 3. | Open the folder icon next to Database Folder |
| 4. | Select the folder where
your historical database is located e.g: C:\ shares\ C:\ shares\au-asx (default setting) C:\ your custom folder |
| 5. | Click OK. The Database Folder should now update correctly to the correct location of the database |
If you had previously downloaded to the wrong location, you will need to repeat any downloads again. We recommend doing only a couple of days first to check if it works. If it works, then continue with the rest of the missing data range. This will prevent the unnecessary usage of your download allocation if the folder still isn't set correctly.
