Since I decided not to touch derivatives, I would like to have an option not to load data for:
Options
Warrants

But some want to just have Warrants or Options with ordinary stocks.

So solution here could be: one has buttons and can pick and choose to his/her heart content and mix and match what one likes.

Why is it on my mind, I do not use any of this, but I take CPU time to get it loaded, sorted out and later updated with DataBase Maintenance Program, and because they are relatively short lived, they have to be frequently deleted.

On top of that I have to block them from my Metastock explorations.

Also since I want to load less I would like to pay less.

And since everything in life revolves around choices, I would like to have that advanced choice if possible of course.

A good idea would be that in the download once every month to include a full update of Company Names etc to give the users who have missed a particular maintenance to be updated with the name of Companies. For instance I have some companies that I downloaded a couple of years ago that still come up with only their code. These are only ones that I have not manually updated but they are there. Also having a maintenance schedule for the SES would be great.

I am still using datadirector 1 because datadirector 2 seems way too clumsy for me to bother with. ie having to keep dd1 in order for DM to work, copying the database each time data is adjusted, etc, etc.

What I want datadirector 3 to do:
1. to be a stand-alone application ie get rid of dd1, dd2 and DM

2. Automatically adjust data everyday for splits, capital reconstructions etc. without the user having to download data separately with DM

3. Have all the features of DD 2, of course.

4. Distribute data into equities, warrants, options

5. AND have shares distributed into sectors.

6. Have new issues automatically assigned to appropriate sectors on the day of listing without the user having to create/revise add to the distribution profiles, or wait for Paritech to provide one.

7. Have DD3 automatically display the list of all equities that have been adjusted

8. Have an intelligible, logically set out user manual that details step-by-step the various set-up procedures and how to use the various features of the new software.

Hope this helps, smile

I almost forgot, as I use after midnight data I always have to move date back 1 day before I download (as by default I download YESTERDAY’S DATA), not much trouble but
200 times a year
times so many clients,
makes it awful lot of clicking for nothing.

A few more ideas?

Standardised distribution profiles for:
Stocks
Options
Warrants
GICS Sectors
ASX50 Stocks
ASX100 Stocks
ASX200 Stocks
ASX300 Stocks
Indexes

Automatic (daily?) updates of standard distribution profiles.

Only data indicated in user-selected distribution profiles is downloaded.

Automatically conduct DM adjustments with each download.

Fix problems with copying indexes to other folders.

That's about all I can think of right now.....

Hope this helps.

I'm happy with dd2.

My only suggestion would be to enhance the program by adding data delete functions

StockDelete program is sold by Paritech separately, I paid around $45 a while ago.

Hi Paritech,

I would like to ask you a question.

Since dd2 was released a while ago, there were some comments made, so obviously you have some concepts on what you would like to change/add/remove in/to/from your dd3.

Could you make some comments on what is coming?

Can I suggest what Norgate is offering is a good start. I have been tempted to swap to them because of the flexibility and utility of their offering. Check their site for the ASX option.
