As you are probably aware, over the last couple of months the updates to MarketScan data have been delayed. This problem has arisen because the program that prepares the data on the server is taking longer and longer to complete. It now takes 9 hours - starts at 9pm and finishes about 6:30am.

We check it around 7:00 am in the morning. Unfortunately, lately, it has sometimes failed (most likely due to all the data it is processing). When this occurs, we need to restart it and the data will not be ready until the end of the day.

Due to the changes in the tools used originally to create MarketScan, this problem is not easily fixed. We are considering how best to address this. In the mean time, we will monitor and nurse the data updater as best as possible in order to get MarketScan data updated as quickly as practical.
