Hi kuzi, I believe this to be the reason for the A1 folder.
The previous versions of MS (I think, version 7 and below) only supported about 2000 securities per folder. With MS 8 and above this limit has been changed to 6000.
So how does this tie in to the A1 folder? Well, basically what it means is that the A folder has exceeded the default limit of 2000 securities and has therefore created the (as an example) 2001st security in the A1 folder.
Anyways, if you have just installed the history from the disc then you can simply delete the A1 folder and then do the following:
1) Open the DD2 program
2) Click on Tools > Options and tick the Expert User option and click ok
3) Click on Wizard-MS-ASX (it ought to be highlighted) and click on properties
4)Now click on the Distribution profile tab and change Maximum securities from 2000 to 6000 and click ok
5)For the finishing touch, reinstall your history again as you did prior.
Hope this helps
