DataDirector
Daily Data is not Appending to Historical Data
Firstly, ensure that you are not receiving any error message
during the download procedure. If you are, this may prevent the data
from updating. Make a note of the error and check the
common error codes for a possible solution.
If you are not receiving an error, the most common cause of this is
that the incorrect Destination Database has been
specified in DataDirector. You should check this in DataDirector as
follows:
- Highlight your destination database (i.e. Wizard - MetaStock -
ASX)
- If you do not see the following buttons, click the Setup
button first and ensure that you have Expert User ticked.

- Click on the Properties button. This should bring up a window
containing your download settings. You need to particularly note
the Database Folder name. This should be EXACTLY that of your
historical data folder. If it is not, you need to change this
accordingly. Having even one character out of place will cause
your data to not update.

- Click OK to complete the change and attempt another download.
If this makes no change, ensure that you are specifying the
correct download date range on the main DataDirector screen. As
basic as it may seem, we have come across times where this simple
mistake has been made. This is particularly important for After
Midnight customers, as they may come across problems if they have
the current date specified in their date range.
