NOTE: DataDirector3
is
currently configured to work Australian Stock Market, UK Market
data (US data to be added soon) and only in Metastock format.....it will not, for example,
download text files. If you do need "text files" then it is recommended that you stay with
DataDirector2. Updates are no longer reliant on the number of
downloads issued each month but will be restricted to a maximum
of two PC's per user. Usual restriction of "Before
Midnight" and "After Midnight" subscriptions apply.

For AU Data subscribers:

Paritech's recommended setting for all
standard ASX data clients in DD3 can be seen in image
below . This means ticking the four tick boxes as
displayed.

NOTE:
for those clients that wish to use DD3 but do not wish to lose
the useability of their existing Shares database eg Favourites,
Layouts etc it is recommended that the "ASX Everything"
option be selected. This
option is the same as if you where still running DD2.
As can be seen from the screen above DD3 has a very straight
forward interface. Using DD3 is simply a matter of selecting
which database's clients wishs to create then click "Update". DD3
will then create and automatically maintain each database, this
includes carrying out automatic maintenance for stock splits,
consolidations, dilutions etc. DD3 will also automatically fix
any corrupted data file.DD3 will also remove any stocks that
have not traded for 3 months.
PLEASE NOTE: should a deleted stock re enter
the market then DD3 will automatically re install all the data
for that stock

As can be seen in images from Metastock DD3 has
setup individual folder for each database. To find this data
in Metastock click "File" then "Open".....In the Open Dialog
window ensure "Files of Type" is set to "Smart Charts" then in
the "Look In" field open the drop down menu and browse to
C:\Shares\ASX folder the to desired database.
