For clients experiencing any issues creating or saving PDF documents exported out
of Microsoft Word whilst using BOB - reason and resolution is as follows: Microsoft
has been forced to remove the PDF export from the base product (MS Word) due to pressure
from Adobe hence the conflict causing this issue. A free add-on is available to resolve
this issue. It also appears that not all versions of Office 2007 are affected, only
those builds released after June 2006.
The add-on can be downloaded from Microsoft Downloads here and should be able to
be installed without any fuss.
How to fix BGL Connection Issue if the server crashes
Symptoms: TotalView/BOB cannot connect to BGL.
Cause: BGL is not running, most likely
due to a config file change upon unexpected restart of the server.
To Diagnose: 1)
Either from your PC or the server start a command prompt window (start -> run ->
cmd enter) 2) Type in telnet 192.168.0.99 16080 enter 3) If you get a connection refused
– it is down
To Resolve: 1) Get everyone to log out of BGL 2) Log onto the server as
the administrator 3) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Nexus 4) Double click on restart_bgl.cmd 5)
