StockDelete
Important
It is vital that you select what type of scan you wish to do e.g. if
you select "Securities longer that 3 characters" StockDelete will
only scan for those securities, if you select both "Securities
longer that 3 characters" and "Securities that haven't traded (for
whatever days you stipulate)" then it will only scan for those
securities that match both the selected criteria. Therefore if you
wish to delete securities matching both of these criteria, you will
need to run StockDelete twice.
As you can see from the images below each different type of scan
will produce different scan results.
StockDelete FAQ
- Does StockDelete work for all data
formats?
NO, it will only function on MetaStock format data files.
Other formats are not supported by StockDelete.
- How do I select which folder to scan?
Click on the yellow folder at the end of "Folders to scan"
area and you will get a browse window (see image below). From here
you will be able to select which ever folder you wish to scan.

- What happens if I delete unwanted
Warrants and Options?
If you have elected to delete Warrants and Options from
your Shares database they will naturally be gone. it must be kept
in mind that when you download data the following day any new or
current Warrants/Options will again be downloaded to your Shares
database. Should you wish to keep the Share database intact and
still wish to do an efficient exploration (such as in MetaStock),
it is recommended that you copy your Shares database and do a
StockDelete on the "copied" database. You will then be able to do
an exploration on the copied database.
